A Little About Us

We take on the wild, weird, and out there ideas.

Diversity is important and design is no different. We are not a studio focused on what is trendy; we design for real, authentic lives.

    Emmy Jeffries

    FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL DESIGNER

EMMY’S BACKGROUND: Emmy’s background spans education in Interior design and psychology with a focus on human-centered design. Her experience in construction and custom design extends over a decade through high-end residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.

FAVORITE PART OF THE PROCESS: My favorite is the very beginning, building the profile, the ideas, and letting our brains run wild before we hone into a direction.

A SPACE OR TREND YOU WANT TO DESIGN: Designing a smoking lounge or burlesque club has always been a dream of mine.

    HIDDEN TALENT: Hoola Hooping

A CONSPIRACY THEORY YOU BELIEVE: Mermaids are real and we signed a treaty with them, that’s why we don’t explore the oceans!

  • Eva Winters

EVA’S BACKGROUND: Eva’s passionate about self-expression through fashion and marketing. She’s gained invaluable knowledge through two internships with the Columbus Fashion Alliance and managing marketing for local businesses such as GlamazonJayne Fashion & Footwear.

FAVORITE PART OF MARKETING: I enjoy creating content on social media for small businesses, such as short form video content, organizing feeds, researching content trends, and developing unique brands.

FAVORITE ARTISTIC MEDIUM: My favorite is fabric, sewing and beading.

HIDDEN TALENT: Basic special effects makeup!

A CONSPIRACY THEORY YOU BELIEVE: Magic and superpowers are real, it just doesn’t look like what everyone would assume.

Emmy founded Damewood on 8.8.2020 in Columbus, OH as an interior design studio founded on ethical and honest practices. Our studio is the intersection of passion for design and respect for others so we celebrate human connection, radical honesty, and damn good design.

The Women’s Business Ownership Act was signed into law in 1988. The synchronicity and symmetry feels too good to ignore so you may see 88 as a symbol of our brand, however let us be clear: it ONLY represents an icon of something powerful for women in business in our minds and hearts.

Damewood has always been and always will be a feeling; that one where you step into the space and feel like you’ve been set on fire. We want passion and sparks of happiness in every movement through your space.
