Welcome to Damewood! We’re more than just an interior design firm. We’re the badass design mavens who are passionate about changing our world for the better.
In the coming blog posts you’ll get insight into interior design, the Damewood way, through letters from both of us, sometimes together and sometimes separate. We’ll share our opinions — the good, bad, ugly, and everything in between. You’ll see topics such as: “Rituals in Life and Home”, “The Role of Imperfection in High-End Design”, and “How We Do it:” a series of things we do and why it matters. We’ll be honest, the topics will shift and evolve but they’ll always be from us and our unique perspectives.
Hi, I’m Emmy, I’m the founder of Damewood Designs. I pride myself on transparency and integrity in business so I’m huge on sharing knowledge and helping others. If you want to know something, just ask, I’ll tell you every detail and where I got it! My friends would tell you I’m passionate about people, construction litter, and nature so it’s no surprise if I’m not in the studio I can often be found outside, whether it’s a rock climbing wall, a hike, or a local park. If I had to distill my life’s goal into three words, it would be: have good fun. I want a life I can enjoy, live well, and feel fulfilled; thankfully I get to do just that and design cool shit. Win, win, if you ask me!
Krista here — we like to say I’m the raven to Emmy’s dove, the Scorpio to her Capricorn. In school, I explored every subject that fed my curiosity—art, business, psychology — alongside my formal training in interior design. My grandmother was a professional artist, and I like to think her creative spark made its way to me. If I had to distill my life’s goal into three words, it would be this: create beautiful things. I’m lucky enough to live that dream every day at Damewood, shaping spaces that feel as good as they look.
